What To Make Of The Urban Meyer Situation.

The past 48 hours have not been great to buckeye nation and head coach Urban Meyer. The national media has been calling for him to be fired since Brett McMurphy came out with a report saying Urban Meyer knew of the 2015 allegations against former Ohio State wide receiver’s coach Zach Smith.

The day after Smith’s firing was the Big Ten media days, where Urban Meyer denied having any knowledge of a 2015 incident with Zach Smith. Earlier today Urban Meyer released a statement acknowledging he was made aware of a 2015 incident with his then wide receiver’s coach Zach Smith. He also stated that he took proper protocol in reporting the incident and that he has always followed the proper protocol in these situations. So what exactly does this mean for Urban Meyer and what else did he discuss in his statement?

– Meyer also stated that he will cooperate with the investigation. This is important because Ohio State is still investigating the situation.

– Meyer understands more questions will come from his statement and he intends to cooperate entirely.

– Meyer says he looks forward to returning to the team soon. This makes fan optimistic that he will indeed be back and at the very least he will fight to keep his job.

After seeing Urban Meyer’s statement, Buckeye Nation should feel better about the situation, if this is indeed the truth and Meyer did report the incident properly then there is reason to believe that he will be back on the sideline for the Buckeyes sooner rather than later.
